The Vicarage Hotel is located close to Kensington Gardens, providing the perfect place to relax or go jogging. Shopping, in the local neighbourhoods of Kensington, Knightsbridge and Notting Hill is as good as it gets. The West End's theatres are a short cab-ride away (15 minutes), and major cultural attractions, such as the Natural history Museum, Science Museum and the Victoria & Albert Museum, just a 15/20 minute walk.

Directions

By Tube:
The hotel is half way between High Street Kensington station on the Circle and District lines, and Notting Hill Gate station on the Circle/District and Central lines and is an 8/10 minute walk.

From High St Kensington station turn right onto Kensington High Street, turn left at the traffic lights onto Kensington Church St, walk up the street until the road curves to the left, then take the 3rd turning on the right into Vicarage Gate and then the 2nd turning on the right also named Vicarage Gate, the hotel is at no. 10 on the right.

From Notting Hill Gate station exit station towards Kensington Church St. and then take first turning on right into Kensington Church St, then take second turning on left into Berkley Gardens, turn right into Brunswick Gardens, then left into Vicarage Gate. The hotel is at number 10.

By Rail:
The hotel is accessible from all London mainline stations via the Circle line tube to High Street Kensington and Notting Hill Gate, and then follow our directions. Alternatively take a taxi directly to the hotel from all mainline stations.

By Bus:
The no.9 bus runs a frequent service between Hammersmith and The Aldwych passing Kensington High St, Hyde Park Corner, Piccadilly and Trafalgar Square.
The no.10 bus runs from Hammersmith to Archway passing Kensington High St, Hyde Park Corner and Oxford Street.
The no.52 bus runs from Shepherd's Bush to Victoria Station passing Hyde Park Corner.

By Car:
The Hotel is situated in Vicarage Gate which is east off Kensington Church St (A4204) which joins the Kensington High Street (A315 )at the southern end (which is accessible from the A4) and at the northern end Notting Hill Gate (A40) . Please see Google location map.

Parking:
Car parking is difficult in the surrounding streets, but is available within approx 8/10 minutes walk, off Kensington High St at car parks in Hornton St. underneath Kensington Town Hall( most competitive rates), the NCP in Young St and the Euro Car Park under the Royal Garden Hotel, 24/7 car parking.
Euro Car Parks also offer a booking facility to ensure a parking space is always available for you on arrival, if you would like to take advantage of this service, please telephone 0870 907 9777 ( a small booking fee is applicable) You will need your credit/debit card and vehicle registration number, including your estimated time of arrival and departure.

By Air:

Heathrow Airport – Tel. 0870 0000 123
15 miles / 24 km west of Central London just off the M4 motorway.

  • A traditional black taxi will cost you in the region of £45-£50 to or from Heathrow and will take around 35-40 minutes. There are usually taxis queuing for customers at London's airports. Find out how much your journey will cost beforehand. Only use a black cab or reputable mini-cab and never use unauthorised drivers.
  • The quickest, cheapest and most reliable way of travelling to or from Heathrow and Central London is by the Piccadilly Line Tube with a journey time of approximately 50 minutes, a single ticket into Central London (Zone 1) costs £4. For the cheapest fares, consider buying an Oyster card. Your destination Tube station is High Street Kensington, then follow our directions to the hotel.
  • The Heathrow Express train runs to Paddington Station and takes about 15 minutes at a cost of £15.50 each way.

30 miles/50 km south of London off the M23 motorway

  • A traditional black taxi will take around 60-90 minutes. The cost is negotiable as it is outside the London perimeter and the cab driver is not obliged to use his meter, so good deals can sometimes be had! Expect to pay around £90.
  • The Gatwick Express train runs to Victoria Station and is the fastest and easiest service to/from Gatwick. The journey takes about 30 minutes and trains run every 15 minutes at a standard fare of £14.90 one way and £26.80 return. Then take a taxi or the Tube to the hotel.
  • The Flight Line bus from Victoria Coach station is cheaper than the Gatwick Express, however takes 75 - 90 minutes at a cost of £7.50

Central London Hotel Transfers

The national express dot2dot service is a new shuttle service between and Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport and hotels in Central London. The fleet consists of some 70 vehicles, specially designed for passenger comfort with plenty of luggage space. Satellite navigation and congestion tracking systems help avoid unnecessary delays.
